I was eagerly awaiting this authors next historical romance after reading Like the Down of a Thistle. This one was even better then the first! Great, great follow-up! I was crying and cheering throughout this book. It reinforced the the vulnerability, strength and tenacity of women that lived through history. The characters were realistic! The setting and circumstances of these women helps me to understand exactly what our maternal ancestors faced in order for us to live today! I look forward to the next book in this series!
