I’ve read many of TSJoyces books and this story had such promise. Sometimes her ideas are so creative like the one about the squirrel. That was so Unique. I wish she would explore that angle more about the way new shifters begin to originate. I have never given her a low rating but I can’t honestly give this one more than two stars. I almost could not finish it. I really liked the premise of the characters but I think she needs to take a little more time in between books to flesh out her details better. I was disappointed this book had a lot of grammatically incorrect sentence structures that made it feel like a middle schooler wrote it. I’m also getting tired of the beer pong scene. It’s been repeated in many of her books. Change it up a bit more. I mean I’m not looking for a literary work of art here but it was so choppy I had a tough time getting into the story. I’m disappointed. I really want to like it because the idea behind was great but it just wasn’t executed like her others and the themes were somewhat repetitive to previous books. I was chomping at the bit waiting for this book to be released. Now, after completing it in 2.5 hours, I sit in disappointment. I have read every one of Ms. Joyce books (why I at least gave 2 stars) and this one just didn't meet her normal standards. It almost seemed rushed or half written. Was this a novella and I just missed the memo?Seriously, I am sitting here and wondering:What was that I just read?Like really, that's it?This is what I've been anticipating?
